Prime Architecture is pleased to have been appointed to design the redevelopment of the former Raffles Nightclub building in Llanelli.
Dubbed an ‘eyesore’, the building has been left to go derelict for the past 50 years. Despite attempts by several developers over the years, planning permission due to be granted shortly to Eon Investments to convert the site into high quality, residential accommodation comprising 22 new apartments, including two penthouse suites, above a commercial unit on the ground floor.
The Prime Architecture team have come up with a very modern and unique building design featuring a multi-brick affect created by a mix of cool grey and red brickwork, reflective of the Scarlets colours. Adding to the contemporary style is the unusual layout of the windows which will be placed at different heights throughout the building.
This project, named Cwrt Dilwyn, is the first major regeneration in Llanelli town centre for a number of years with funding from Carmarthenshire County Council who are fully behind the seven floor development.
Directors at Prime Architecture say, “We are very pleased to be involved in this flagship project as working with local authorities to bring empty buildings back into use is one of our key priorities. It’s a win, win situation, as investment in the redevelopment of the Raffles building is a step towards stimulating growth and boosting business in Llanelli Town Centre.”
Building work will begin on this substantial project next year and is due for completion in 2020.
