The team at Prime Architecture have won yet another flagship contract with the development of the old Ferryside Community Centre building.
Appointed by Calon Y Feri Community Centre for this prestigious development, Prime will be responsible for the designs that will transform the building into a multi-use facility for the local community.
Plans for phase one of the development include the re-instigation of a local post office, a GP surgery, and a café/restaurant. There will also be an enterprise wing with facilities for small businesses and sole trader to lease affordable and accessible space of 4 x 4.5 metres.
Phase Two involves upgrading the existing single glazing to double glazing and installing new thermal efficient boilers.
Phase 3 sees the installation of B & B style facilities with complete disabled access and corresponding facilities, including accommodation for carers. Longer term, the building will be completed renovated to create further enterprise and commercial opportunities.
It estimated that this new development will create up to 40 new jobs in the village as well as increasing footfall through the additional, new facilities.

Phase One of the Calon Y Feri Community Centre development was completed this summer with Phases Two and Three due to start mid-October.
